Happy New Year!

On January 1st, we celebrate the start of a New Year and celebrate the birth of Haiti. As the first republic in the Western Hemisphere founded by people who liberated themselves from slavery, Haiti declared its independence on the first of January in 1804.

We begin 2013 with tasty soup joumou and a happy update concerning our work!

As of this month, thanks to your generous contributions, we are funding the education of forty Haitian children. The students are distributed across schools in Dure, Ridore, and Lavial. FHL is dedicated to serving the children of impoverished families in our communities, and we are grateful for our supporters, who have facilitated this arm of our work, while we establish our home.
